Default Clutch Pedal Play

Hey guys like my sig. says my car is a 99 6-speed with 24K on the clock. In the time i've owned it. I have noticed I am getting some free play in my clutch pedal. Maybe a good 1.25 inches. What is causing this and what can I do to fix this? I know my clutch shouldn't be going bad. It doesn't slip.

There is supposed to be .5 inch of free play to keep pressure off the release bearing to prevent premature wear... but on our the release brng and the slave allways touch the pressure plate..

Sounds kinda like a master problem.
