Default Any 6 spd cars over 3300 lbs going mid 10's or faster? if so, in here please.

Alright, here is the deal, i am gonna make one last attempt at pulling some decent times on the 6 spd and I need to figure out which clutch to use.

I have a race weight of 3580 lbs. at about 550 rwhp I have gone ~10.6 @ 130, my last clutch was a Ram HD with Ram billet steel flywheel. I got about 15 motor passes and 10 spray passes before it let go. When it let go, it really let go, the car will barely move under its own power right now. I really want to spray a bigger shot, but think its pointless cause a clutch won't hold it and would love to get more than 10 freakin spray passes!

I've had 3 ram HD's, they seem to be good for low 11's high 10's on my car, but are not cutting it anymore with more power. I've had a spec 3, it worked ok, but was only doing mid 11's, I had a textrailia, it slipped like crazy on the very first pass. after the tex that i paid $1100, i really would hate to spend this much $ again on a clutch that won't work. I'm thinking maybe a spec stage 5. but how much power can it hold? I mean really, not what is advertised, I have over 700 rwhp and over 800 rwtq that Id love to hit it with, but i don't think I will ever find a clutch that will hold it.

So, for those of you that have actually went mid 10's or faster with a car that weighs a decent amount, what has worked for ya? I honestly don't care what your high HP 6 spd car uses if u don't launch it hard at the track, that is not gonna do me any good.

thanks for reading.

My car is 3350-3400 and I've gone low 10s with it. Ram VDS/910 setup. Didn't slip at all until my Eagle crank leaked all over it.

my race weight with me in it is 3604. My car has gone 10.6 @ 129 with a 1.47 60ft(video below) with a spec 3I clutch and stock flywheel . As far as the engine it's a stock bottom end H&C with a 75 shot launching between 6,700 rpm to 7000 rpm with a 28" tire with a nitrous delay so I'm not launching on spray. A ton of people hate spec but I have had good luck with mine

If you had a prob with the textralia, they would have taken care of the issue for you...I have the textralia, and it grips like a ****...before you spend more money, contact Peter or Jarrod at textralia....they'll work with you on making it right....The only clutch I'd ever buy!!!!

they did kinda take care of me after 5 freakin months of me chasing them down! One of the biggest pains in the *** I've ever had to deal with. No way in hell would another one of those ever go near my car. BTW getusum, how many 10 second passes do you have on your textralia?

taner, Holly SH*T!!! thats freakin nuts! This gives me hope that I can reach my goal of 9.99 with the 6spd!

Thanks all for the information, I would love to hear more if anyone else can chime in.

I use the ram 402/910 setup w/ my 3650 lb car and have been 9.80 @ 141.7 w/ 1.35 60'. I wasn't sure about getting it because it was so inexpensive but then I figured wtf i've been spending thousand's on the last two setups so whats another couple hundred dollars. I couldn't be happier with it and wound recommend it to everybody.

i second this! Great guys and great customer service. My clutch was put in worng at frist and after 5-6k clutch was actign up due to the pressure plate bolts backing out. Pete said he would give me a new clutch and so he did! I will never buy another clutch.

OZ700 working fine for me.....3600lbs, time in sig.

If I do decide to upgrade, it will probably be their new ExoSkell...

But until I see a problem with the OZ700, I cant see any reason to change it. It just drives so well on the street !!!
I probably have about 4500-5000 road miles on it as well as 15+ 10 sec passes, and about 40+ 11 sec passes, as well as general abuse

How is the drivability on all of the mentioned clutches?

Mcleod Street Twin?
RAM 402/910?
Textrailia OZ700?
SPEC V?
