Default LT1 T56 swap behind 89 TPI350 - which year master cylinder should I use?

Here's what I've got going on: I believe a '97 T56 (LT1) going behind a 89 TPI 350 motor in an 89 T/A. I have everything I need except for a new master and slave. I've noticed that some parts at Discount Auto 'fit' 1993-1995 AND 2001-2002, while others are only good for 1993-1997, 1998-2000, OR 2001-2002. I'm just looking for some advice on what master to use for my swap. Should I just say screw the stock units and get an adjustable unit? Also, is the drill mod advised for an LT1 T56? Thanks in advance for the help.
