Question chatter and some other noise!!

ok. so i just put a stage 1 spec in my car. i know the horror stories, but i'm strapped for cash and i needed the car driveable. anyway, i've got about 300 or so miles on the clutch and the chatter doesn't seem to be gettin any better. if anything, it might be gettin worse. and there's also a groaning noise that happens intermittently when letting up on the clutch or puttin the car into a gear. it sounds like it's a rotating part because it sounds like it spins for a few seconds, then stops. it's like a groaning/rubbing sound... i'm at a loss here. any ideas on this one? i need to get this fixed, it's driving me crazy!!!

let me add, that noise was there on the old clutch too. leads me to think it's hydraulics.

nope but as my stage 2 breaks in I noticed a bit more chatter. probaby due to the disc seating and producing more friction along with the 12# flywheel.

Did you replace the flywheel or have it resurfaced when you put the new clutch in?? If not, thats going to cause the disk to chatter, especially with an aftermarket clutch.

did u install the shim behind the slave, and how many miles on the slave. and why did u put in a spec with no motor mods(street), the ls6 clutch is good for 400 at the motor.

the shim is still in there from the stage 3 i put in before. i had plans for a blower, but decided not to mess with it. i went stage 1 because it was a stock replacement and cheap. what exactly does the shim do anyway?
