Default T56 in a 70 gto

Does anyone know where I can find an adapter for a T56 to stock bellhousing? I have a 400 pontiac big block bellhousing that it needs to bolt to.

I would check with Wier hotrod products. They make a Bellhousing for Chevy's not sure if they have one for Pontiac of not. McLeod makes an adapter plate for chevy's which uses the existing LS1 bellhousing, again not sure if they make one for Pontiacs. I would check with both companies.

If the 400 Pontiac BB is the same bolt pattern as a SBC or BBC then an LT1 T56 will work. I have a 94 LT1 T56 bolted up to a 69 SBC. The only problem you might have is finding a clutch and flywheel to work.

Spec or Centerforce both make flywheels for a 2 pc rear main and then you can just use any LT1 clutch.

If you look for a 1386-000-011 T56 ( aftermarket model made for retrofits)it will accept your original bell and release system.
