I figured this had to have been beaten to death, but I can't find any good information in the searches I made.

I would think this is some very useful information!

Does anyone know how much hp the stock T56 can handle until it needs to be replaced?

I am planning on making about 575-600rwhp and drag race pretty often. I know many many people are making this kind of hp and race their cars pretty hard, but you never hear about the transmission or what it'll handle.

From my experience, 500-600 rwhp is no problem. I think passed 700 rwhp you will be getting to the limit of the tranny, depending on treatment. My .02.

700rwhp is no problem, a little more with the viper output shaft on the f-bodies. The output is also the weak link in the vette also as they are prone to breaking in the diff. I would upgrade to the harden shaft on a vette for anything over 500whp.
