Which brake fluid for the clutch??
I will be bleeding the clutch soon and I cant decide on which fluid to use. I have some valvoline synth but I have read on here that the manual says not to use synth cause it can cause premature slave failure. Soo im not sure what to do the last thing I would want is to cause more problems. What kind of fluid do you guys use?

I've also read that synthetic fluid causes the seals to out quicker, not sure exactly what causes it though... I've just used regular DOT 3 brake fluid for the hydraulics and insulated the line running from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder with heater hose. It holds up great and keeps the fluid looking the way it's supposed to for a long time.

Dot 4
I asked the same question about a week ago, and I didn't get any help. I did some research and talked to a few people. They basically said that the difference between DOT 3 and 4 is that DOT 4 has a higher boiling point. If you use DOT 3 and you race alot, then wrap your lines that are near any heat source. If you use DOT 4 and race alot, wrapping your lines with a heat wrap is not as important to do, but may still be a good idea. I had my fluid changed yesterday. The old fluid was black, meaning that it had been too hot, and I did go with the DOT 4. I have only put about 10 miles on the car since the fluid change, and I am interested to find out if there will be any change in performance. Does anybody else have any prior experiance with this change?

I use cheap *** DOT 3 fluid and it works fine. The key is to keep the braided line away from heat from the exhaust. The best DOT 4 will boil if it is exposed to the exhaust enough. What i did was bought a piece of heater hose and slit it down the middle, put the line inside of it and then zip tied it tight. I then also zip tied the line to the frame of the car away from the exhaust.

Fill tank, have a your buddy pump and HOLD down the clutch pedal, you crack the bleeder for 5-10 seconds and then close it and have your buddy come off of the pead and pump it a few times, top off the tank and repeat the cycle again. After a whole bunch of times the pedal will build pressure and aftyer i had full pressure i did another 5 cycles of bleeding to ensure no air was in there.
