lock up in 3rd

Default lock up in 3rd

5100rpm shift from 2nd to 3rd and the shifter locks up in 3rd and that car acts like it's in neutral. then its a kinda hard to full it out of 3rd happened 3 times since i got my z. (happened yesterday when i went to race some *** in a gt he thought he was the **** when i caught back up him then went from a roll in while i started from third chewed his car up look on his face was priceless) ne 1 what this could be or how i could fix it.

It is possible to get between gates while attempting 3rd. First off , you are shifting way to hard, you don't have to hit it that hard. You can help out the situation by getting an aftermarket shifter that allows you to increase the centering load . A higher load would snap the shifter over to the 3rd gate quicker an lessen the betwixt-gate likelyhood.

i posted on ls1.com and some one said my 3-4 fork is messed up could this be it as well, any help would be great thanks

if you still have the original aluminum fork, yes you could have problems but not what you stated. You said you shift , the stick moves forward and the trans acts like its in neutral. A damaged fork would clash-shift/ not move forward. It would also affect 4th and may cause a stuck in gear issue.

yes it goes in 3rd but *** soon as i let the clutch out it acts like its in neutral and its a lil hard to pull it outta 3rd. when i go beck to third its fine
