Default t56, spun input shaft bearing race

i'm looking for advice,
the transmission was rebuilt around a year ago by a supposedly reputable chevy guy due to a sticky 5th gear issue,
i bought the car shortly afterwards,
to cut a long story short the transmission shifts great, everything feels good,
on friday the transmission broke,
i took it apart and there was hardly any oil in it, i mean a few dribbles,
the input shaft bearing was in bits, some of the rollers had welded themselves to the inner race,
also, the outer race had obviously spun,
i got a new bearing and race and as i needed the car back on the road to go buy a new car i just staked the housing and it felt like the outer race was ok,
drove 20 miles and everything feels good,
then, all of a sudden, when slowing down i get what sounds like a growl,

my question is,
could this be the outer race spinning again?????
thanks,

are you talking about your pilot bearing (this sits in the crank shaft and the input shaft of your t56 goes into it)?

no, not the pilot bearing,
the large input shaft bearing, inside the transmission,
it hasn't made any noises in the last couple of days,
done a couple hundred miles,

It would depend on how much aluminum was remeved in the initial bearing loss incident. I would replace the front adapter ( the cover the race fits into)if you think the race is spinning. I also hope that the bearing between the mainshaft and input gear( sometimes called the pocket bearing) was changed too because it is this bearing that seems to go firts with low oil.If you did not look at it closely at repair time this could be the noise generator.
