Default New clutch for me : (

Well, the general consensus is that my TO bearing is bad. So wwith 79K miles on it, I am going to replace the clutch and slave as well.

I am:

Resurfacing the flywheel-$36
Need OEM LS6 clutch kit-Where can I buy this and how much?
Need slave-O'riely's has the stock one I think for $77?
Labor $325 for everything
T/O bearing-??

I want it to be OEM spec. Since I dont plan on adding much, if any more hp this will be fine for my needs. Advice/help as to where and what?

Should I get a new flywheel, or is resurfacing the stock one okay?

You can get a "new" one from Autozone for 60$ plus tax, plus core charge. I believe its a resurfaced original, but not sure.

resurfacing is fine with a stock clutch...i had terrible hot spots and they were able to machine it like new again...unless your going with a lighter flywheel, resurface it and save some money for something else...

No need to re-balance, right?

Shouldnt need to.

How do you need a new clutch already? You just bought your car a couple of months ago.

I have a friend who's car puts down 430 and has been running the LS6 clutch kit for a few years with no problems. I'd either go with that or the Spec 3+, although I had bad vibe problems from my first Spec3 about 3 years ago.

It has 79K miles, TO bearing makes noise over 3500 when I push the clutch in fast. The clutch is just preventative. Why do a TO and not a clutch? Waste of time/money imho.

Idiotic if you ask me. My TO bearing has a noise as well, but I bought a new clutch (RAM HD) to replace the clutch because I fear it slipping with my spray and the new cam that is going in.

Why do a clutch that has absolutely no problems? Do you like wasting money?

I figured all TO bearings are noisey? What could potentially happen if it were to go? Although i'm sure it would be screaming if it was that bad.

I have an extra TO bearing that came with my spec that I don't need cause the new slave came with it. If you want it pm me with an offer.

Clutch has 80K miles. How many clutches do you know that go over 100K miles on an LS1? Not the majority...WHY would I pay to have the tranny removed and NOT do the clutch? THAT sounds like a waste of money to me.

Why would you pay to have the tranny removed if it isn't necessary in the first place?? Granted the clutch may not have much left in it, but you don't know that, if it isn't slipping it isn't slipping. Now I don't know how loud your TO bearing is, but I’m sure the majority here on the site have noisy ones as well. If you were upgrading the clutch to something stronger then I’d understand, but keeping it stock and doing it because it’s making a noise seems like some expensive preventative maintenance. Besides get that thing up on jack stands and do it yourself!
