The master need to have a little play in it from the rest position so as not to put pressure on the slave.
It will build pressure on it from normal use depressing the pedal & the fluid heating up. If the rod is extended to far it could cause it to aplly pressure to the slave.
I think the McLeod is overkill for that clutch though??
A stocker made adjustable would work fine as well.

There is no issue using a McLeod adjustable with any of our clutches, though it certainly is not required. Make sure that you are not pre-loading the diaphragm and all should be well. Where is the engagement occuring? Let me know and I will be happy to assist you further. Thanks,
