Default automatic to 6 speed

how hard is it to convert a 99 Z-28 from an automatic to a 6 speed?

Not very hard. The PCM does have to be redone though so it knows you are a manual.

I converted mine and it's not hard. You just need to get all the components, swap the pedals, cut a hole and install the master cylinder, cut a hole for the shifter, swap everything else out including PCM or tuning it

How much did u spend? and what trany did u use? i want to convert mine but dont know where to start....

awesome. well i found a 99 automatic z28, white, with SS hood and spoiler, long tubes, vette wheels and some other minor things, with 104,000 miles for $4500.00. Good deal?

Did a A4 -> M6 also, there is a sticky up top, very helpful.

If you haven't bought a car yet, I would just find an M6 car. You'll find that you will end up spending around 1800 bucks when its all said and done for the conversion. I came real close to doing it to my car, then just decided to look for the exact car that I want instead.

I did mine for about 1500 but I did the swap myself. Jared is right though, you should wait until you find a car with the M6 in it already. It'll save you money and some headache.

If anyone is interested in the swap, i have a friend that will swap harness and PCM out of his M6 for your automatic Harness and PCM, might even give you the pedals and other little stuff that you might need, since he won't need them anymore.
