Default Pilot Bearing vs Pilot Bushing

What is everyones experience with a pilot bearing vs a bushing??

If the bearing worked for GM in the early days as long as it did, I dont see a problem with it. Plus I like the idea of less moving parts.

I'd only ever do a bearing on a car with a factory installed bearing. More efficiency and quieter/smoother operation. People act like the bearing is going to be more likely to fail, but its a newer/better design than a bushing. From that same mentality why dont we rip out all our coils and convert to HEI or put a carb on. Newer=better.

Sorry to threadjack, but does anyone know the inner diameter of the LS1's pilot bushing?

GM's info on it says .600" ID.

Well look who it is! come to my other thread. You wouldn't be able to look up the V6 pilot inner diameter too would you?

I had a bearing on stock with 100k and replaced it with a bearing. there is nothing wrong with a bearing.

It doesn't list that one in the GM software, and I don't have one on hand to measure unfortunately.
