Default LS7 clutch review

~5k miles on it and just took to the track doing 4k launches, 3 of them on nitrous and went a 12.52@111 in my pig. Not exactly happy with the times but the clutch did flawless!

Good to hear Just had one installed . I'll let you know how it feels on the street. As i have the stock 10-bolt... I'll have to wait for track #'s until that's upgraded ... sight another year

Thanks. I don't have it finished yet as far as how the boot that is. I put an automatic console in it like is in an extended cab and the tahoes. Others have finished the boot installs but I want to do something a little different so it is going to require some custom CNC work.

My clutch is almost done with the break-in and so far feels great! I hope it stays that way.

Good to hear. I'm still loving mine too. I think its the perfect upgrade for a mildly modded car lookin for a stock clutch engaugement & overall feel. Not to mention ease of install.

Thought i'd update and show my shifter boot after I finally got it done.

Oh yeah, and the clutch is still doing fine. 10k or so miles on it and doing great. Even had a few track passes on it. They were cut short because the clutch did this:

It is the stock 30 spline axle in the 8.6 rear.

what kind of power levels will the LS7/LS2 setup handle reliably? i'm considering this setup, but i only want to have to swap out the clutch once (with the exception of normal wear & tear). i'd like to end up with between 500 - 600 hp when it's all said & done....mainly for street use and maybe some auto-x/road courses. probably won't see much (if any) drag racing.

I have about 3,000 on mine, and several track passes w/4-4500 dumps, and it has held up beautifully so far. It is gonna get tested a little harder in a few weeks!

I've launched as high as 7K on mine

I have almost 10K on it now and four trips to the track with about 60 passes on it. Not one problem yet although the last time down I could smell it burning up a little. The car likes to launch at 5500 RPM letting it out fast and WOT within five feet or so. 1.69 60's are my best and about all I can get out of it on MT et DR's but its still squakin 4th so I'm happy. Great street clutch though your never going to hurt in on radials

Just got mine in over the weekend. The peddle settled surprisingly quick. No more than 60miles and it was already back to normal. The feel is awesome, it eases out froma stop w/ no problems, holds tight, and the peddle stiffness did not increase.

I'm looking forward to next weekend when i can do a lil testing. After i break it in to the tune of 500 miles it's on, i should be able to rack up those miles............................................. .................................

To be continued.......
