Default Question about a Pro 5.0

I just bought a Pro 5.0 shifter. I read alot about how you guys cut about an inch of the threads. Does this help any or is this just a preference of how short you like the stick?
Thanks Danny

I bought the UMI short stick and love it. It is angled just like the pro 5.0 shifter but shorter. Shortening a stick can make you shift faster but if you can shift just as fast with a longer stick, I suppose it would just be a preference if you wanted to shorten your stick

Its all preferance i left my umi standard height and it works great. Still allows you to comfortably rest your arm on the center console and shift with your finger tips.
