This is difficult to answer because everyone will have a different definition of what they consider "hard". I can tell you that when I bought my car, the clutch pedal felt VERY soft because my previous vehicle (89 Ford F-150) had a MUCH stiffer clutch pedal, but there was nothing wrong with it, that's just how it was.

I would expect to pay 3-4 hours labor at your favorite shop, plus parts.

Try answering the question "What does chocolate taste like?" with any useful accuracy, and you'll know why you're not getting much info on this.

I don't recall my old stock clutch being hard to push in, but that was also 3.5 years and 2 transmissions ago

I'd say drive some other 6 speed LS1 cars and see how they compare. If they all feel about the same, then you're probably going to be fine with it

Stock clutch on a TA should never feel "stiff" hydro clutches always go in easy well almost always..... got a stock on in mine 87K miles and just now starting to go out after beating the hell out of it for the past three yrs. My buddy just put a brand new tex in his H/C car and it is hard for me to tell the diffence except his is not slipping like mine is starting to do.

it's all in the person, a Z06 clutch felt like a feather to me, then when I went to drive my car, my clutch felt hard like it had a giant steel spring on it.

Then I compare a stang's clutch as extremely hard and all of a sudden my clutch feels like a feather.

To know what a LS1 clutch feels like, you just gotta test drive a bunch of them and make mental notes.

I think the main thing here is there is no mechanical linkage anywhere. Its all hydraulic. Makes for a nice smooth easy pedal in most cases. Im running a spec 3 and 02 hydraulics and I have a pretty stiff pedal compared to my buddies 96 TA...and that kind of still has a clutch fork... His feels almost broken compared to mine. haha. He let me drive his car and the first couple shifts had me all out of sorts.
