What the heck did you run over?

I have no idea but it doesn't look like it's good...

looks like old tranny fluid that made its way up though the grease that is packed into the center of the Pro 5.0 shifter.

It should not have happened because there is usually almost now fluid in the shifter linkage compartment but I would not worry to much about it.

Did you recently fill the trans with fluid? Maybe overfilled?

Why is it gray, though? That grease is yellow.

Graphite based grease such as anti seeze has that look.

Looks like somethings making metal and it's mixing with either the shifter grease or tranny fluid. If you're really worried clean it, change the trans fluid and see what condition it's in. If it's not obviously full of metal don't worry bout it.

Mine is similar but nowhere near that bad. How long have you been running the shifter? I've only had mine in since the first week of January. It's not the tranny fluid either because I changed that over to Syncromesh around the same time.

I put mine back together tonite... It looked similar to yours. It was just grey grease. I cleaned mine up and put some different grease in there and no problems.
