T-56 6th gear stuck I am trying to rebuild my t56 but I cannot get 5-6 gear off. I broke my home made gear puller, I used metal straps to extend the puller jaws and I was cranking down on it got to the point I couldn't turn the puller anymore so I put the impact on it. Well as I kept hitting it with the impact i snapped the puller. I have not been able to get the gear to move at all, and yes I have all the c-clips off. Anyone have any ideas??

I have seen a few that where a biatch to get off. Some where replacing broken output shaft deals too.
I would hate to heat the gear, but you may have to try the press that would be the next logical step. Not much can hold up to that, & you'll have less of a chance of damaging the gear than with a puller if done correctly IMO.

I live in Colorado but thanks for the offer. I do have a hydraulic press I guess I am confused on how to use it to remove the gear. The gear sits down in the case. Some advice and the corect procedure would be appreciated.
