I'm in the middle of a clutch install, got the tranny out fine and everything. i unbolted it from the bellhousing since we didnt have a tranny lift, i unbolted the bellhousing, but it still wont come off! i seriously have looked around all 360 degrees of it to make sure i didnt miss a bolt. i pried the drivers side off, but the passenger side is the one that is stuck. is there something that im missing??? any ideas?? i really need to get this done.

It is best to unbolt the trans from the bellhousing. Then pull the bell seprate.
You should get 8 bolts.
The one on the vent tube bracket is hard to see/get to sometimes.

I think there are dowel pins that corrode up, that's probably what's stuck, smack it with a soft hammer

once you get it off, put a little antiseize on the dowel pins. That'll prevent the corrosion in the future

to wrenchers post - yeah, i did that. took the tranny off first, not all i have left is the bellhousing.

as for the dowel pins, i cant believe that thats all thats holding it on that hard. i mean, i literally beat the **** out of it with a soft hammer, i tried using a pry bar, its stuck so hard i can literally shake the engine up and down and theres no bolts in it. oh and yeah i got 8 out of it.

I thought I was gonna crack my bell housing trying to get it off the dowel pins, trust me they corrode and it's like the pins swell. It doesn't suprise me that you can shake the engine.

Everyone there is right, they do sieze up like that.
Aluminum block & bell then a steel dowel they can sieze up pretty good.
Just be carefull have seen people do damage/distort the bell from some that are really stuck on there.
Up here in the rust belt cars really get corroded
