Default new t56 from D&D good idea?

I've got an LS 364 coming from gm and I'm looking for a tranny. Was thinking TKO but theres a little bs with hooking them together so I started looking at t56. Anyways, would a t56 from D&D be a good option to back it? Its going in a 72 gmc 1/2 ton and I figure all I'll need after this is the clutch. Is the viper upgrade worth the $800, the 364 is only rated at 400 ftlbs and I don't see myself going much higher, yet

Thanks

Also talk to sixspeedsinc. Amber is very helpful in helping you decide what you need.

I'd be looking at sixspeeds except that they don't offer a new transmission. I'll call d&d tomorrow and see what they suggest
