Default M6 Shifting:Where do you shift?

Yet another nube question from me.

I'm going to the track for the first time tomorrow in my 98WS6.
Where do you all shift at in your manual? I have been shifting
at the factory redlined 6k, but I remember in my Mustang that
the redline doesn't always mean thats the best place to shift.

Any suggestions?

I like to save my engine the extra wear, so I go around 5k-5500. Depends really though. If i need to go all out and be hella serious, I'll take it to redline.

In a stock head cam ls1 there is no need to shift higher than 6K.

I think peak power on our stock cam is from 5200-5600 or was it 5800 RPMs, I shift at about 6000 at the dragstrip and when I race. It pulls nice and strong till about 5800/6000 or so. I dont let it hit stock redline though (6200)
