Default 6speed durability

need to know just how much hp/tq a factory 6 speed can take..yes it will have a good clutch pkg just need to know if its best to get it gone over by 6 speed inc or just run with what i have...

if it should be rebuilt *56k* HOW MUCH would it be???

Not sure if their is an exact figure, but i think mine is fu(ked already. Pops outta 3rd gear and gets stuck in fourth now. Just finished my 9in and susp. install and now this...WTF!! might be limpin it around until winter when i can afford to send it in too sixspeeds inc

I have a stock 6 speed and it is holding up good so far. I think it is all in how you drive it. I am in the range of 750rwhp and 700 or so rwtq as of now.I also have a Mcloed twin disc clutch. So far so good.

Used to be made by Borg Warner on LT1 cars.

Was sold to Tremec and has been used since 98+ according to some articles I read.

It's strong.

They are stong...until you miss a shift....then they break....just like everything else. Be prepared to have third gear popping out...broken 3-4 keys....and a re-build required.
