Exclamation Missed 3rd, reverse lights on and stuck shifter...

Ok so i went to jam third gear and automatically new it didnt go into third. So I went to pull the shifter out of 5th and no go. The guy I was racing came up to me and said my reverse lights was on. Also I could rev the motor up like it was in neutral. It is like it got caught between gears. I have heard of this happening with mustangs but not LS1's. So anyways I got the shifter back into norml neutral position after a heated struggle (), and put it into all gears and seemed to feel just fine. So I put it into reverse to make sure it still works, and it does. Go back down the road and shift all through all gears, just fine. No strange catches, or grinding or anything. It seems jsut like it did before the mishap.

So my question is: Did I **** somthing up or am I gravy? BTW I have a recently rebuilt transmission from t56 rebuilds(1500 miles)warranty anyone? LOL

Yea but it wasnt stuck in any gear. Like it was between 3rd and 5th. I just did a little more searching and came up with a thread about it. Some one said that it might have somthing to di with the way the internals are set up in the t56's? I dont know....just run it till it starts grinding or gets stuck in a gear...

You got stuck in between gates. I did it before and I've read other people do it as well. Just make sure everything is sound before ripping through gears again. I did it about a year ago and still haven't had problems since.

Yea I made sure it would go into all gears and everything, then I ripped through them again and all was good! Just a little un-nerving, you know?

syncro, I did that to mine in 2000, which was when I bought the car, my frined slamed into me while I was downshifting in a corner, split the gears, trans didn't go out though till 05, but that is what caused it

so T-56 rebuilds warranties their transmissions?

I wonder if I should get a rebuild by them, just based on the way I drive
