Default seriously WTF????????????

OK i have a new tranny, new slave, and a spec 3+ all with about 3500 miles on it. when i first put the 3+ in it engages right of the floor. i put the shim in it from the get go. so i decided a new master would help. bc when tring to race goin to 3rd was like hitting a brick wall. and 4th was hard to find. also when messing around on the street and make a pull its hard to find any gear aftewards.

me a friend put the master in last night and it wouldnt go in gear. so we bled, bled and bled then bled some more. it was horrible. bled for hours. then i back it out because it was 4am and i had to go home to get some sleep. well reverse is retarted, it barley goes in. and when driving the clutch is still right off the floor. and shifting 1-6 is notchy but it was tollerable. so this morning i go to move the car. i couldnt get into reverse. and just trying to get it in any gear was horrible. the only thing i can think of is the master is bad from the get go same with the slave. or the clutch disc has a broking spring.

any suggestions???

Did you try to bench blend the master cylinder first. I had the same problem after I did the drill mod on my clutch line. Me and my father was blending for a whole hour. And the clutch pedal still was really soft. So went on line and found out about the bench blending. I did it and as soon as I installed the master cylinder back the pedal was tight and was going in gear just fine and smooth. Hope this helps

How thick of a shim did you use (assuming that you shimmed the slave)? You may just want more shim in there. These damn T56s are touchy, and it seems like every one is entirely different.

If your pedal is that close to the floor, spacing is ultimately the solution if bleeding doesn't fix it.

I know, you don't want to rip the tranny back out, but I guarantee, it'll save you months of headaches if you just get it out of the way. Make sure you inspect the clutch, pp, flywheel, slave, and t/o bearing while you're in there.

I had the same problem with my spec 2+ and 3. I used the shim, and even thought about stacking 2 shims, but decided against. So I got a friend to make my master cylinder adjustable, and adjusted the pedal up off the florr. No more engagement issues. And both of my cluthes held great. The 3 is holding my power nicely now, even with 28" tires and 3.90 gears.

im just goin to pull the tranny and get a brand new slave and another brand new master cylinder. i used the shim that spec supplied. this crap is annoying i just replaced my entire drive train before race season started and havnt really got to enjoy it.

the master i just replaced was a homade adj. i tried it all over to far and the car wouldnt even start. and i never was able to adjust it enough to get the clutch to stop realeasing right off the floor.

we also tossed around the idea of double shiming, but decided not to b/c weve never herd it done before.

I have heard of many people double shimming. Try it while you have the tranny out. How does your pedal feel? I really doubt that your slave or master is bad. Its jsut that you have had alot of material taken off the flywheel and you have to make up for it.

the pedal feels like mush. the clutch itself along with the flywheel have maybe 3500 miles on it. i broke it in properly. and its only got 6 passes down the track only 2 or 3 of them were complete passes as 3rd and 4th were giving me trouble.

you might need to rebleed the clutch , i just saw a post that said to crack open the bleeder valve THEN push the clutch in and hold while closing the valve.
