Just installed LS7 Clutch
I just installed the LS7 clutch kit, along with a new slave, and I also flushed the hydraulics and performed the drill mod. I have about 25 miles on the clutch, and it is still releasing very low close to the floor. Will the release point come up as the clutch breaks in? Is this normal? Is there any way to bring it up at all?

Also did you feel any power loss Due to the increase in weight after the LS7 clutch install? I haven't been able to tell because I haven't gotten on it yet and this has been worrying me. How many miles did you put on it for the full break in period?

No shims, at least I don't think so, I had a shop install it for me and they didn't mention anything. From what I've read on this site is that you don't need to shim it on the stock clutch system. As for the power loss, I haven't felt anything, but I also installed a 12 bolt with 4.10 gears, so the car is faster than before. The break in period I used was 500 miles, keeping it below 3k rpm's and not slipping the clutch too much. I wouldn't beat on it until after the break in period. Better safe than sorry.

I noticed a slight SOTP loss after I installed mine but it's not that bad. I didn't shim mine and it is releasing just like the stock one and at the same height. What's a break in period?? I beat the **** out of mine 15 minutes after we got done with the install It's been in since March and I drove it for two months with no problems and my parents drove the car back to Ohio (from NC) after I got deployed. They said it acted normal and didn't give them the least bit of trouble (it's a 500 mile trip)

Update. I now have about 100 miles on my LS7 clutch and it has began to come up off the floor. It does grab noticeably harder than the stock one, and I do like that.
