Default How much should the D/S Move Around In Trans? *VIDEO*

well ive had this viberation for a long time.
i have been reading about worn out tailshaft bushings.
the slip yolk that goes in to the trans how much should i be able to wiggle it?

i had my trans rebuild my t56rebuilds and said i wanted all new bearings i wonder if they dont replace that one even thoe its a bushing i dont know

ill get a video on how much it moves

i jacked the car up, took the wheels off, put the jack stands under the rear so the susp would be loaded.I put the nuts back on the rotors so they wouldent move put it in 6th and at 50+mph the viberation is their. So i let it idle with it still in 6th 35mph or so and i could hear a knock every so often. sounded like it was from the trans/clutch area. well then i got under it and thats when i noticed i could move the d/s

I still have that same vibration that you have, and I was also curious if my driveshaft should move like that. Mine does the same thing.

Last time I checked the rear bushing was not available seperately from the tail housing and I had to have a bushing from another transmission modified to work in the last one I needed to change out . They do wear out just like any other rear bushing would so its possible that your needs to be replaced . I doubt thats the vibration though unless you have a bent mainshaft . More than likely the drive shaft has a bad u joint at the front of the driveshaft causing the vibration and probably the excessive wear on the tail housing bushing .
