Advantage of a pro 5.0
Just like it says. I have a ws6 store short stick that i purchased several years ago, before i was really into racing the car. My question is, would it be worth the dough to purchase a new shifter? I mean, what is the advantage of buying one if i already have a short stick, other than just having an even shorter one?

it's not the short stick that's TRULY helping u shift shorter...it's still the same amount of throw, ur hand just doesn't have to travel as far. an aftermarket shifter does just what it's supposed to do, shorten the throws between each shift plus giving u a lil positive feedback between gears. I've had the hurst that came on the SS...too sloppy for me, then I went to a Ripper...nice but I like feeling that lil "ok, I'm outta first and I feel I'm going into 2nd" that my 5.0 does. some people say the 5.0 is too notchy...to each is own. there are others on the market but I can't think of them off the top of my head. they are all around the same price.

well take my opinion as it is but with the stock hurst i missed 3rd several times and with the pro 5.0 i have only missed a gear 1 time and that was because i was shifting gingerly and didn't have it in gear yet when i released the clutch. i say a 5.0 or ripper is definitely a step up on the stock hurst.
