Default Time to rebuild the t56

Well The trusty t56 finally **** the bed. tough to get into 1st and 2nd, pops out of 3rd.

I'm lookin into rebuild kits and all my options. I'll be building it myself.

Anyone have a ballpark idea of what a rebuild kit would cost or even. I'm puttin down about 650 rwhp and I am very hard on it when i shift, so i need somethin that can handle the abuse im gonna give it.

I'm even kickin around the idea of goin auto. Anyone know what it would cost to convert to a 4l60e or 4l80e with a nice shift kit?

would also like to know how long it takes to do this. talking about the time from when it's out to when you put it back in. Ballpark figure for a guy that's never done it, but has good mechanical skills and all the tools without any problems or hassles from the tranny.

Mine is doing ok but it pops out of third once in a while when you shift into it and let the clutch out, once it's in though it's good. Also I can't downshift from 6th to 5th. Plus I can hear the throwout bearing gruntin more than it should sometimes when the clutch is disengaged. Thinkin' I'll throw in an adjustable master, new slave, new clutch with flywheel, and a rebuild kit from sixspeedsinc. just hope to god all the gears are good cuz I'd already be paying roughly 1500 for all this.

I believe you can get them all 1-2, 3-4, 5-6. I will be sending mine to sixspeedsinc as soon as I have time to pull it...
