Default Bizzar NEED!!!!!! some help guys.

I have a 2001 z28 with a t-56 out of a Z06 and a SPEC Stage 5 clutch.I started having prblems with it in April the clutch started slippin BAD Brake fluid was leakin on my clutch,I posted before with no response....... . Since I found out it was the bad slave.I replaced the slave(throw out included) and master + resevour.I orderd a PREBLED SYSTEM from a local speed shop.We Installed it and now i have NO real clutch response. Before The clutch would snap your neck when engauging, before it all started i had about 1/3" before full engaugment.

Now I can dump the clutch at idle and NOT stall, squeel, die out.....NOTHING. BUT I do slip.So bad I can get out of the car with the car at idle and IN 1st.I have to REV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the **** out of it in order for it to go any where.

UNDERSTAND MY CLUTCH IS MADE OF IRON NOT KEVLAR.I dont think is can SOAK up stuff

MY ?'s are

DO I HAVE TO BLEED MY SYSTEM?

Why am i slipin, Do i have to pull it all apart and clean my clutch or is there a easier answer?

I really need help guys.

Christian

Either your not fully releasing , which is not likley. Or your disc is juck from fluid intrusion.
If you where slipping bad you prolly fried it. Cleaning it is not an option replacement is the only cure.

First off you do not have a Z06 trans in your Z28 .
Secondly , the clutch sounds like its not working correctly . How does the pedal feel ? Does it have free play in it ? Or does it feel solid from the top of the stroke to the bottom of the stroke on the pedal ?

If you read the 1st sentence in his post, he said "I have a 2001 z28 with a t-56 out of a Z06...".

I read this to mean that his current tranny is NOT the oem one that came with his z28, that it is a swap from a z06.

Of course, a 2001 z28 with a 6 speed happens to have the same transmission (and clutch) that a 6 speed z06 would have....

Is there something else called a Z06 that is not a Corvette?

A Corvette Z06 manual transmission bolts to the same v-8 as a 2001 Z28....

No other Z06.
The C5/C6 corvettes have a unique drivetrain, there is the motor, clutch & bellhousing, then the torque tube then the trans/rear differential assembly.
So F body & Y body transmissions are totally different.
There are some parts that are interchangable but not alot.
The GTO MN12 is a Z06 like in ratio T-56 that bolts up w/ a F body tail housing etc.
