Default Master Cylinder Question

Does the master on 98's have problems or is it just the slave? I'd rather not spend another 130 bucks on top of the tranny rebuild clutch install and everything else.

It seems like I recall the 98 cars having more leaky master cylinders. Of course, that may be due to age and heat on the line breaking down the fluid. Although I am not sure that affects the master as much as the slave.

If you are going to replace the slave and rebuild the transmission on a 98, I would opt for the new master cylinder to be sure everything was good to go. But that is me.

Yeah I agree with the Wiz, just might as well replace the master to while you are replacing everything else....I will be installing my LS7/LS2 kit setup in the next couple weeks I already have the kit and a new slave cylinder...I don't want to spend more money on a master just like you but I might as well do it so everything is new and I can start off fresh......
