Default Need a new 6 Speed

I have a 69 Camaro with a 427 small block and a 6 speed Richmond. I now have to much engine for the tranny and it is time to buy a T-56. I really like the T-56 and have one in another car. I am looking to purchase a new T-56 for my Camaro and need some help so I don't overpay. Thanks

I'm pretty sure you're looking for one from a LT1 fbody as those bolt up to sbc + 90* V6.

Thats a sweet Camaro .......

Whats the power rating for the Richmond 6 speed ? I would think its pretty close to what a decent T56 would hold .

The Richmond is rated at only 450lbs tq/450rwhp. The Keisler which is what I decided to buy is good for 650lbs tq/650rwhp. They sell a Perfect Fit 5 or 6 speed that is superior to the Richmond. My current engine is a 564rwhp & 616 tq so it should be real smooth. With the addition of the new tranny I think every single nut, bolt and part is now new. I added the Currie rear last year and at that point should have went for another tranny.

At the time I was caught up in doing a few extras including the Digital Dash which I really enjoy. I has a built in G-Meter and the gauges are accurate, not like the OE was.

I'd bet that Richmond will take a whole lot more than that ............

I'm thinking the Richmond can handle it also depending on what kind of duty it will see. Sticky tire 6 grand side steppin the clutch track launches might hurt it but street tired launches most anywhere will do nothing but slip the tires. Hard street tires save driveline parts. Good luck to ya finding a good trans, that car def deserves one.

The Keisler I just purchased is rated at 650/650. I will also fit perfectly and I have installed one in an older Vette and the entire intallation was smooth. I decided to go this route and should be back on the road by next Friday I hope. The roll bar I purchased in 1978 from JC Whitney(believe it). I is also chromed but due to activities I use to have I had to pad the roll bar. It is embarrassing when your g/f wants to perform stunts and she gets knocked out, hence I padded it. That was a long time ago but some memories last forever. Some more pics.
