Default LS7 Clutch/LS7 Flywheel

I am about to order a Ls7 clutch setup and i was aondering if the Ls7 flywheel and the Ls2 flywheel from the vette are the same. There have been many threads saying both will fit on our Ls1s but no one has given a straight answer. Anyone know? Also will this clutch hold up at the 450rwhp range?

I was told that the fly wheel is the same on both setups.. And it worked perfect in my car at the time.. No mods were made it was a direct bolt up with my tranny..

Hope that helps ya

I believe they are the same part number. If your not sure just call up a vendor real quick & they can re-affirm this. If for some reason they are not, then the LS2 flywheel is the one you want.

I found the ls7 clutch/ls7 flywheel for $259 and wanted to buy it but wasnt sure. I am going to be doing the PRC 2.5 5.3l setup with ms3 cam. Will this clutch holdup with the power added by the heads/cam. The clutch will see no track abuse and i usualy just walk the clutch out instead of dropping it.

Yes, the LS2 and LS7 use the same flywheel!

And if you found the LS7 kit for $259, PM me where at....I'll start buying all our stock from them!

I found it from a member here on Ls1 tech. Its off the new Ls7 vette. I heard that a shim may be needed for the installation onto an Ls1..is that true?

The kit comes with the pressure plate, flywheel and disc. And you don't need to shim anything
