Default grinding in 3rd

i have an '02 SS M6. i was riding home today, just playing around, shifting down to 3rd going about 70ish at a cruise, letting off when i hit 4th and the next time i tried shifting into 3rd, it grinded rele bad. i had the clutch fully engaged. i had to force it into 3rd. but i noticed it only does this if i drive it hard. if i waited about a minute or so, it shifted fine. i'm pretty sure its only 3rd gear that does this. can anybody tell me what the problem is? thanks

Could be a syncro ring on its way out or could have been a slave cylinder issue .

i was thinking it was the synchros after reading a few other threads. if that was the case, would it only grind after being drivin hard? or would it grind no matter how i was driving it? and would doing the drill mod help at all?
