Default Transmission being ...Stubborn

god damn this things being a pita. clutch is all aligned but the trans doesnt want to seat all the way in.. like its caught up on the second plate (twin disk). any tricks to help?

Its probably hanging up on the pilot bearing . You can use the bolts to suck it in but do so very carefully and by hand not with a power tool . Go back and forth in a star pattern until it pops and pulls up flush then tighten up with an impact .

did it work? i'm having the same issues with my tranny also. goes through the first plate and stops like hitting a brick wall.

i did what the source did. Had the same problem on mine. I just gently pulled it in with the bolts. I knew everything was lined up also, still had the same problem

When I did my first clutch swap, I had hung up on my pilot bearing. There is really nothing to hang up on if everything is aligned right except the bearing. I would try to remove and take another stab at it. Pardon the pun!!

well after two days of fighting with the tranny and a few choice words it slid on. but the last 1/2 inch or so i had to use the bolts to pull it in the rest of the way. on to another piece of the car now.
