I don't think a cooler is going to help it last longer . It might help if you road race the car but thats about it .

Well, not just last longer but just run smoother and easier... and I do AutoX and the occasional road race as well so I am planning on putting one on mine... Just seeing who else has done it.

Never heard of anyone doing that before. Don't think the trans gets THAT hot. I mean enough so to warrant the install of a cooler.

Install a fitting in the drain plug , run the hose from there to the pump and cooler . The return line will go into the fill plug area .

I guess its been done but don't really think its needed .

Its a smart add for road racing . It is also quite common to install one( as stated above). BTW newer T56s are comming with cooler circuits that have internal pumps/external exchangers.
