Default Question about different T56s

I have an LT1 t56 and a guy wants to buy it to use the internals for his LS1. Are they the same internally so he can do this?

The input shaft, front plate and bellhousing are the only things that are different. If he converts the trans over to an LS1 it will be just fine.

Using LT1 gears in an LS1 front adapter will require alot of shimming at the input gear but it is do-able. The gear width is not the same.
