Default Skip Shift lever?

Okay, so I'm taking on the task of rebuilding my t56 and had a few questions.

Is that the skip shift lever? Do I need to even put it back in the trans? The picture I have from alldata is incredibly small and hard to see.

I'm curious about this too. I don't even have it hooked up.

I don't think that is the skip shift. I thought it was right where the shifter goes...

That is the skip shift and no you do not have to have it. We do put them in when we do rebuild's if you don't use the skip shift.

Are there any problems with taking that out? I can't stand the skip shift crap. BTW where is that lever located? I have changed my shifter before and never really paid attention to what was in there besides that and the shift bushing.

Okay! Thanks! Another question, I'm trying to put the case back on the front plate and the topside torx screws don't want to thread in. Am I supposed to do something special to the shift rails, etc to get those to align? Do you ahve a picture of how it's all supposed to look right before you slide the case back on.

The solenoid for CAGS is right next to the shifter but the lever is in the extension housing. If you pulled off the top plate right in front of the shifter you could see it but can't take it off.

Ah ok! I thought that was it for the skip shift. I didn't know there were other things, thanks for the info!
