Default T56 Extension housing trouble...

So I'm almost done rebuilding my t56. Everything has gone together fairly well. But now I have a problem. With the extension housing off the trans, everything looks good. With the shift rail in neutral the input shaft and output shaft both spin indepedantly. And when I engage a forward gear the are interlocked and spin together. But, when I bolt the extension housing on as well as a shifter the input shaft locks solidly and won't spin at all, same with the output. No matter what gear I put it in. Tried putting the housing on a few different times and it always does the same thing. Any ideas for things to check?

Nevermind. Don't know what the issue was but assembling the trans vertical it always bound up. Once I flipped it back horizontal it just clicked in place with almost no resistence. Seems to spin fine in all gears and not at all in neutral.

Suh-weeeeet.
