Shift **** rattle
I have a 2002 Camaro with the factory hurst shifter, i installed a ws6 store short stick (longer of the two options)and Hurst white ball shifter, and under heavy throttle the **** itself rattles, the short stick doesnt have a rubber bushing on it like the factory one did and the shift **** is as tight as it can get. what can i do about this rattle? The car has only 30k miles and no other mods.

^it's the brass insert inside the white ****. Mine had the same rattle and I have a Pro 5.0 so no rubber isolator either. I tried tapping a 1/2" socket on the brass insert lightly to tighten it up...but a part of the **** broke So now i use the stock H ****.

My short throw rattles more than the stock Hurst, but that is due to that stock rubber bushing being removed. I just deal with it, since I rarely miss a shift now, worth a little rattle.

I was thinking of rigging something like that. Like find a rubber hose about the same size as the stick, cut it in half, drill the holes and bolt it in between the shifter and stock. I'm gunna wait till i get my Pro 5.0 to do it tho.
