Default spec 5 clutch

I have an opportunity to buy a used Spec 5 with 6,000 miles on it with the pressure plate for a really good price. I believe the clutch has mixed driving track time and street. My question is, is that way to aggressive for cam only? I'm doin a cam in the spring but now I'm stock. Just give me an idea of what it should feel like, ie grip, how hard it will be to push the pedal etc. Thanks fellas.

My personal opinion is never use a clutch that is used. It probably came out of the car for a reason. I am also not a fan of Spec clutches I've had bad experiences with two of them. A Spec 5 is a really agressive clutch that is probably overkill for what you have and its not very street friendly. JMO.

6k miles is too many on a SPEC 5 unless it is free. They are not made to last long.

I love the haters with minimul post count.

True true...

I don't remember exactly how many miles I got out of mine before it started to slip, but i'd say somewhere around 7500 more or less. I didn't do too much drag racing with it, but for the amount of street miles I got out of it i'd say I did pretty good.

Amen! I put the Spec Stage 4 through hell without a hiccup. If I remember correctly, the old cam only record holder had over 300 passes on his.

Nothing wrong with Spec clutches. I run the 3+ in mine. Don't put that used spec 5 in yours though, too many miles.

I would wait until you can get a new unit. There is never any real benefit to installing a used clutch. You never know how it was driven...and thus buying used leads to increased risk. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

Hey man whats up! I like my spec3+clutch it is holding good so far! I've put a little over 3,000 miles on it since i bought and i dont know how muchthe other guy put on it, and u know my miles arent easy ones, u know how much i race! I'm a cam only (407hp/386tq) and on the bottle (565hp/645tq) i've only sprayed a couple times on the street but it grabs like a SOB and has never slipped once! I would recommend one to anybody!!!

I have a spec 5 with 30k miles that was holding 1000 rwtq before I pulled it. It was a good daily driver clutch for me.

I pulled it only because I got the new super twin. The 5 clutch still looks new.. its crazy.
