Default LS7 Clutch Question

I have seen a lot of people that have been running the LS7 clutch in their f bodies with LS2 flywheels. Just trying to figure out how much better they are than the LS6, or LS2 clutch. How much more clamping force is there, and why go with those and not another aftermarket unit such as the spec, or mc loed?

From what I read, they are much stronger than the ls6 clutch setup. And the reason that I went with the ls7 clutch with my setup is because of price and driveability. The pedal has a stock feel and for the price as I said was just awesome.

From what i understand, the clutch material is similar to the LS6 clutch but there is more surface area on the LS7. The pedal feels like stock like 68birdls1 said, but if you let up all the way, the clutch WILL grab. 100x better than the stocker. No complaints with mine.

Don't waste your money on another ls1 or ls6. The ls6 made it into 01+ f-bodies and don't hold up much better than an ls1. I've tried doing some research on the ls2 but came up empty handed. The simple fact is the ls7 has more holding power and can handle more hp than any of the other three. The best part its cheaper than all three.

I had an LS6 clutch years ago when they first came out. I'm now running the LS7 and it feels like it grabs much better. The nitrous killed my LS6 and I'm hoping that the LS7 will hold up. I won't be doing any launches with it, just roll starts. We'll see this summer.

I've installed a couple at work using a shim that the people who ordered the kits had included. The pedal feels a little more solid using it it could also just be my imagination.

the ls7 clutch has served me well for a true 35k miles, but its time for a new one, i drove the car hard with about 15 passes at the track, I aint mad at it. Not a clutch for a n20 car but heads/cam typical its perfect. Feels like a stocker compared to how my spec was

No, there is an indentation on the LS2 flywheel that the LS6 flywheel does not have. The LS6 flywheel will not contact the clutch disk correctly.

Thats the longest lasting LS7 clutch yet, good to hear that, I was stuck on either getting the LS7 or Centerforce Dual Friction (12") and decided since I will be spraying in the future to go with the Centerforce.

I'm also looking at the LS7 setup, since my clutch is starting to slip. Does anyone know the best place to get one? I've found some on eBay for around $425, is this a good price?

Thanks!
