Default what clutch for cam only car?

Car was bought with an LS6 clutch with LS6 hydraulics. I'm putting an LG Motorsports G5X3 cam in with matching pushrods and springs. My tranny is at sixspeedsinc right now getting the stage 2b build. The lady at sixspeedsinc told me no for the LS6 and LS7 with what I'm doing. But I didn't get a response on what I should go with. I was thinking stage 2. I had it in my LT1 car and loved it. But I know the LS1s are different along with the LS1 T56. What does everyone recommend? Budget for clutch is under $410 too (money I got from insurance to fix everything from hitting a 15lb boulder that destroyed my oil pan and tranny.)

I have the Spec Stage 2 on my car and it has held very good. Cam is fairly big too.

It has seen some track passes (15 to 20) and I do drive it hard with little issues yet. I would recommend this clutch. Also, I think it is in your price range too(if I remember correctly, I bought it for 380 shipped)

i dont know why they said no to the ls7 clutch. I think it would hold the amount of power u will be putting down without a problem...it was designed to hold 500hp minimum and you shouldnt be over that in a cam only car

Prob based on what he stated to SixSpeedsInc, that car is prob going to be launched hard. the LS7 is not a RACE clutch, its a STREET clutch that can handle some power. It does not like high RPM slips and will have issues.

Everyone wants their cake and eat it with clutches.

Of the 4 clutch I was researching, the 2 in the lead was.....

Textralia Oz700

and

Spec 3+

the price diff was 300$ (spec being cheaper)

BUT Tex gave as good, if not better in the power holding dept and drove damn near stock if not better then stock. I just put 120 miles break in and I will say this, its a MONSTER improvement over a stock 2002 clutch (LS6) and For the Spec's that I have driven (2, 3, and 3+ in friend's cars) its a def improvement over drivability and I suspect longevity.

After my personal exp, supplemented by what I read, it seems to be its the issue of Hydralic fluid actuated clutches and that if they are not bleed properly or maintained, that they create the issues with busted clutches, never mind the fact that people's driving habits thrown into the mix can be the death of a new clutch
