Default M6 LT-1 to LS1 conversion

Hello to all.
I purchased a Lt-1 and the matching M6 as a package some time ago.
I have changed my mind an am selling the Lt-1. I have purchased a LS1 and a new LS7 Clutch. Now I need to modify the M6 to fit the LS1. I have purchased the LS1 bellhousing and am wondering what exactly will be required to modify the LT-1 transmission to fit the new motor/bellhousing. The transmission is out of a 1996 Camaro. It will be a transplant into a early Vete. Any help would be appreciated. I have considered an exchange but have not found any willing persons that I could trust & the shipping becomes an issue. I am able to rebuild this transmission. My thought is change out the input shaft and replace the syncros and keys while I am there. I have read I will have some issues with the input shaft retainer as the hydraulic throw-out bearing setts on this retainer. Thanks Rick in South West Washington State.
