are u replacing it or just want to take it off? if ur replacing it, u could use a pipe wrench, but that will probably mess it up a bit. if ur takin it off and keepin it, do u ahve a strap wrench?

Strap wrench is the best thing with out destroying the ****.
If you dont care anything that will grab it will work to twist it off.

u also could try wrapping it in some grip tape to get a better hold on it with your hands.

u might be able to put a chuck of rubber between the **** and use a pipe wrench and not damage the ****

You could try using a hair dryer.

I always noticed that my factory one would be loose on a hot day, then unmoveable on cold winter day.

Just a thought.

Depending on if your car is still driving, I had a hard time getting my stock one off.. so what I did was whenever I got to a stop light, I'd twist it with all my might. After a few stop lights, the constant twisting loosened it up enough for me to get it off fully. Plus it wasn't me sitting in my car for 45 minutes trying to twist it off. Worth a try.

Wrap it with a thick towel and put a pair of channel locks around it.

They're reverse threaded.. Looks like you need a whole new stick.

Just messin, have you tried pulling up while your unscrewing? The center screw piece may have detached from the ****.

I just went and tried again, lifting and unscrewing.

I think the center screw piece detached from the **** itself.

How do I take it off now?

Now I'm stuck. I'll probably just leave the damn thing (I wanted to replace the boot bezel for the one made of wire. I'll probably deal with it when I switch to my short shifter.

If you have the **** off and just have the screw on part stuck on the stick, take a pair of channel locks to it and get it off. Past that, you're on your own lol.

lol. No, the **** itself is not off. I tried just lifting it up, in hopes that the threaded base would stay behind on the stick, but no.
