Yes it could. It could also get oil from the pilot bearing area as there is a freeze style plug in the crankshaft.

Yeah well here is my thing I have a slow leaking rear main seal and I think it is getting on the clutch because after a hard run in any gear highway or not the Clutch has a bad smell. But not the clutch burn smell.

that would be the fastest way to fry your clutch.

Contamination in small doses on a CSM (carbon-semi-metallic) disc will burn off. Contamination on a organic, kevlar, or hybrid disc will mean the end for the disc as the fluid will be absorbed and will resurface when hot. What clutch are you currently using?

Eitherway, you need to get the leak fixed and assess the situation from there. The flywheel and plate can be cleaned up but the disc, unless it is a CSM, will need to be replaced. If your are using a CSM disc them you can actually clean it up with brake-clean and reinstall it. You will also want to check the disc thickness, this is a great indicator for the amount of life left in the disc. I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!
