Default McCloud RST Street Twin

Anyone have any experience with the McCloud RST Street Twin? I'm having to take my tranny off to replace a Master and Slave and am thinking about doing a clutch swap while I have it off. Anyone have any first hand experience? I haven't really heard too much about it but it seems like a pretty sweet clutch. Any input is greatly appreciated,

Grant

Maybe not? Figures, I start looking into new clutches for future mods and mine decides to start taking a **** on me. Looks like I'll have to be replacing it before I thought so which clutch would you guys recommend with a car at around 380 hp? By the end of the summer I'm looking to have H/C and nitrous at least so the clutch needs to be able to hold up. By the way the car sees a LOT of miles on the street.

Alright man, I don't think I'll be able to fork over the cash for it at this point, wasn't expecting it to happen so soon. I may end up with a Spec 2 for a while, oh well.

this is the exact clutch that I was looking into, well actually I was looking at their RXT model that holds a little more power. The clutch looks pretty good but one thing that you have to remember is that it doesnt come with a flywheel.

go with a spec stage 3+ or a textralia man, these clutches are just as good without that heavy *** price tag

Yeah I think I may go with the 3+, anyone have any experience with how many miles I can possibly get out of the spec 3+? Probably won't see many track runs or dumps, though I do drive it hard on a daily basis. Do you have to buy a new flywheel with the new clutch?

I wish lol, if I didn't have to replace it so soon I would, but money's tight, I'm pretty sure I'm just going to go with a spec 3+

good choice, just make sure you put 450-500 miles on that clutch city or stop and go miles, before hammering it, launching it, or speed shifting, that way you know you got a good break in, and your clutch will last along time

I just put in a McLeod RXT twin (the same clutch with a different friction disk that's rated for 800tq instead of 1000tq). I'd highly recommend this clutch. The price tag isn't THAT bad if you talk to Young at byunspeed. I spent $1300, and that included the flywheel, clutch assembly (pressure plate, clutch disk, etc), new OEM slave, McLeod master (which is starting to look like a mistake), bolts, and everything I needed.

I swear this clutch engages JUST like stock. I haven't had it to the track yet, but for driving around on the street it's an absolute dream. The master cylinder I'd stay away from, though.
