Default Prepping slave and pilot bearing.

Hey just wondering what you guys use to prep a new slave and pilot bearing lube wise. And where do you lube? Im spending a lot of time doing this crap on my back and dont want to screw up something stupid.

I just put some white lithium on the input shaft and thats about it...

lube up the input shaft with some sort of grease. It'll be coated in clutch material dust in no time though. I think it really just helps with the install as the 2nd time I pulled the transmission, it didn't look like I had greased it much at all.

I don't think there's anything you need to do to the throwout bearing. I may have smeared a small amount of grease on it but when you consider how it presses onto the fingers of the pressure plate and the heat it goes through, it'll be dry within a bit of time.

I would also reccommend some heat wrap around the slave line itself to keep the fluid brom boiling.

Agree with all, not much needed at all. The pilot bearing comes pre packed with grease but a lil on the input shaft doesnt hurt

I just did this yesterday.

Just lube the tip of the input shaft and about an inch of the splines on the input shaft with some grease for installation purposes.
