Exclamation input shaft bearing

ok ive spent hours searching on here and google to no avail. does anyone have any idea how to get the "pocket" bearing race out of the input shaft. its the bearing that goes between the input shaft and the mainshaft. i got the bearing changed on the mainshaft but i cant get that ****ing race out of the input shaft. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks and preferably soon...i would like my transmission done pretty quick. thanks

using a press and different sized bearing separators is what worked for me.
IIRC, I had to break the old bearing apart (or maybe it just did, trying to pull it) and once I was just messing with the inner piece I was able to get it off.
I see why the recommend not changing them unless absolutely necessary.

yeah its that stupid inner piece i cant get out. nothing to grab ahold of it and pull with. and it does need to be changed. this transmission is a pain in the ***! but its all i have left besides the tailshaft bushing to do.

yeah, I forget what I did, I think I had to grind/cut on one of my bearing separators to get a good bite. I just bought crappy stuff at Harbor Freight, so it wasnt like I was grinding on some expensive Snap on tools.

Good luck with that. I remember I was pretty pissed off!

Take a mig welder and put a small bead on it and when it cools it will almost fall out.Or you can cut it out with a carbide and a die grinder.

Yeah I had to cut out a pilot bearing that wouldn't budge once out of the rear of an engine. I almost cut all the way through, it cracked at the very end.

I don't change them unless they are screwed up but when I do change them I just cut the race in half and smack it with a hammer and chisel .

$20 more 36 cut off wheels and 2 hours later that damn thing is still in there...those stupid little dremel blades snap as fast as you put them on!

Make sure you buy the thicker ones with the criss-cross thread in it (looks like a real cut off wheel) and not those cheap, thin maroon/brown wheels that snap if you aren't perfectly perpendicular to the thing you are cutting.

ah, your using a dremel tool.... those are next to worthless. id pick up a cheap air-powered die grinder. easier to use, and parts are also cheaper.
