Default Shifter **** and shifter feel... C6 **** installed.

I'd just like to indicate that while I loved my stocker ball ****, the look of it was plain. While there were other ***** out there that gave that kind of comfort while shifting, most were made of materials that would leave you with a 3rd degree burn if your car was left in the sun all day and you gripped the shifter.

I liked the hurst **** but after gripping it, it kinda left me lacking compared to the ball **** which was kind on your hand if you relied on technique to shift rather than gripping and forcing a gear with your arm.

So after playing around with some C6 cars on test drives, I was pretty much convinced that this was the shifter **** I wanted. Ordered one up and put it in the car and what can I say. The **** adds a bit more height and thus a bit more leverage. Using a short shifter + short stick means more force required to get it into gear over stock, but the extra 3/4 inch over the ball **** keeps it shorter than stock, but gives a little back to your hand. The shape of it was well thought of. It FITS in your hand. dunno how to describe it but the plastic piece that has the shift pattern fits in the cup of your hand like its some orthopedic piece for your hand. It's like those arch supports for your feet, but this one's for your hand. Then the stitching gives you that extra bit to grip on when pulling straight back.

I love driving my car, but now I'd rather SHIFT more, downshift/upshift when I got this in the car. Just changed how shifting with ease felt. Hope it'll pass the summer test with it's plastic part, but I think this is a winner for a ****. wish sponsors would have supplied this as an option over those metal ***** as I had to hunt outside of ls1tech to find one for a reasonable price.

actually you can get it for cheap from a dealer then mod it to work on your car. Simply cut off the excess plastic and tap it with your short stick. The inside is made of plastic so it's not hard to do.

What's crazy is what a Canadian GM dealership wants for these. $180, and since we're pretty much even it's a bad rip off.

Update: Hated it. Makes the stick too tall, even a cut Pro 5.0 stick. The shape also caused a few missed shifts.

Back to the leather ball.
