Pedal grabs high no slip!( Race vid too)
OK i did a few roll races with my car it has 58,000miles its stock, now the clutch grabs higher on the pedal, but it doesnt slip so i dont know if its bad, maybe the fluid is? Clutch fluid is dark but like i said it doesnt slip.

when letting out the clutch car moves at the very top of the pedal now, i want to know if maybe changing the clutch fluid will help, it doesnt slip with floored in 4th or 5th at 30-40mph i never felt it slip so i dont know if the clutch is on its way out which i would guess it is.
It used to grab at middle of pedal and was easier to judge when taking off. I never really beat on this car but i showed u the few races i had. Please respond at least i gave people something to see too!

the clutch pedal will adjust itself to how much the clutch is worn. id say its nuttin to do with your fluid. did the clutchdo it all of a sudden or did the pedal get any harder to pust down?

it did it sort of all of a sudden after the above races. But its the stock clutch and i never like dump the clutch and do massive burnouts. The fluid is very dark i never changed it but i havnt owned the car a year yet. Car has 58,000 miles. it drives sounds fine and shifts good but like i said the clutch grabs at the very top of the pedal now, and those where only roll races 1-4th gear now power shifting and only 4 races all in those videos. If i let the clutch out to fast the car bucks a lil, and it doesn slip ever. So it just seems weird. thanks.
I was hoping more then one response specially from at least having some videos!

my car was the same way. when i first got it it grabed between the floor and the middle, i raced it a few time and did some bolt ons, now it grabs up top and bucks if you let it out to fast. the clutch pedel is just self adjusting b/c of more wearing of the clutch. i would def change the fluid just for insurance

There really is no adjustment, as the disc wears the pressure plate will release sooner.
The hydraulic's just release the clamp on the disc the pressure plate has with the diaphram spring.
No adjustment there possible to change the pedal release/engage point.
The only thing that can is an adjustable master to a point.
So your prolly getting to the end of that stock clutch.

I find this discussion particularly interesting. This is one of the reasons I got an automatic instead of a 6 speed (that and the dealership with the only 6 speed in town was trying to rip me off big time - they knew noone else had a manual car). I was buying brand new in '99. The car had a clutch like a bus. It grabbed really high. I hated it. I used to drive stick shift cars every day for a living a while back, so I know how they feel. I'm surprised there is no adjustment for this.

Yea it grabs high on the pedal and im not used to it yet and if i release too fast it will buck a lil so it doesnt slip im just hoping it lasts long enough for me to buy a new clutch. Dont know which clutch to get either.
